In 2017, Eduardo Vallejo Pinto began his work as director of a small contemporary dance project, which currently stands as one of the most consistent new proposals on the local scene. It would not be until 2019, that this project would achieve consolidation with the creation of his contemporary dance company OGMIA.
The research work of the movement of Eduardo Vallejo Pinto as a choreographer is developed through a research methodology that delves into the body’s own innate code. This unique code sees the possibilities of development through the technical as development framework, is based on the recognition of the same individual, its limits and potentialities. The assimilation of the technique and physical exhaustion will give the possibility of generating a process of unconscious creation.
The company brings together a team of performers from diverse backgrounds such as Spain, Italy, Japan and United States, which highlights the technical basis of dance, an intense physicality and the development of characters based on the psyche of the performer. Within the company is dominated by the use of classical and contemporary technique. Finally, the theatrical aspect is important within the work in the company in the development of each piece.
At the same time, the company has an own production company, Batbox Productions, which allows great freedom and autonomy in developing their productions. It is composed of a team of collaborators from different disciplines: audiovisual, photography, graphic design, sound design, lighting design, design of scenery, costume design and makeup, performance coaching, production, Press and communication and, finally, online marketing.
This team of professionals has helped the company quickly establish itself as one of the new proposals of contemporary dance in the local scene, without leaving aside its first steps at the national and international level.
Achieving a full absolute with the premiere of its first piece of long duration in the theatre room Mirador (Madrid) in November of 2017, has dedicated the following year to consolidate the work of company and the creation of various parts of different duration for an own repertoire. That effort gave fruit to obtain various aid to creation and residences for their projects.
In this way, the company has received the support of the Community of Madrid, El Centro Cultural Conde Duque (Madrid), El Centro Danza Canal (Madrid) and Compañía Nacional de Danza (Madrid).

The work of the choreographer has developed through a research methodology that looks for into the body’s own innate code. This unique and personal code sees the possibilities of development through physicality, exhaustion and technique as development framework, to generate a unique process of self-knowledge and to generate a distinctive and recognizable movement of the individual.
This technique is based on the recognition of the same individual, its limits and potentialities. The assimilation of the technique and physical exhaustion will give the possibility of generating a process of unconscious creation. This creative process will be deepening and becoming more complex by adding elements such as: the use of the senses, the body of the otherone, the immediate surrounding and the stage space.
The methodology lead the individual to know the limits of his body, the other bodies and the space as a generator environment movement. At the same time it gives the possibility to develop an own code and assimilate other movement codes consciously.
This research process is based on the use of the unconscious of the technique as a creative tool, the interaction of the body with its surounding like generator possibilities and physicality bright as a trigger element of the expressive creation. This tries to find the truest of movement and the possibility of generating a unique research in the process.
EDUARDO VALLEJO PINTO
Producer, director, choreographer and dancer (Asturias, Spain) with current residence in Madrid, has developed his artistic training in classical and contemporary dance in various European institutions and Middle East. His career has developed in various fields of dance in countries such as Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania and Israel.
As a performer, he has participated in various projects throughout these years, both as a freelance in specific projects and as a permanent member of the company. In turn, he has taught at Liverpool John Moores University / Institute of the Arts in Barcelona.
As his foray as a choreographer for his works are based on a personal methodology that investigates and encodes the movement through the search for a gesture created from fictional characters generated by himself. At the same time, coupled with a development of a personal methodology of the movement, which is bastado architectural confections of the stage space, generates a process of thorough and coherent project construction.
Finally, their participation in work with Oysho Studio, CraneoMedia and Sony Music as a choreographer for various audiovisual projects, along with his experience in production for several years working with Tezoro Productions and world Dance Movement around Europe, added to projects as Assistant Director and producer have taken him to found his own production company.
Batbox Productions has served as a platform for creating their own pieces and thus having a team and collaborators, both technical and artistic, to the development of their projects. Thus arose “Tell the Dust”, his debut which featured residency Coreógrafos en Comunidad 2017 (Madrid) and premiered to great reception from the public in November of the same year.
Since then he has concentrated on the creation almost uninterruptedly. Among the pieces of their creation can count on: “Refraction”, “Theory of Doubt”, “Indulgence” selected for the 11th program of artistic residencies of Centro Danza Canal (Madrid) and, finally, part “No Time to Rage” that has earned him a grant as novel creator by Comunidad de Madrid and be selected for the residency program of Compañía Nacional de Danza (CND).
Finally, if we wanted to describe his work from these pieces, we could say that construction of gender issues are developed in contexts dystopian with a great dramatic load, take precedence where inner exploration of the characters, and situations toxic counted human psyche where the contemporary technique and intense physicality serve as tools in the narrative style.

This team of professionals has allowed the company in a very short time to establish itself as one of the new contemporary dance proposals on the local scene, without neglecting its first steps at the national and international level.
Achieving an absolute fullness with the premiere of our first full-length piece at the Teatro “Sala Mirador” (Madrid) in November 2017, we have dedicated ourselves to consolidating our work with collaborators such as Eduardo Vallejo Pinto’s company in the production of pieces of various lengths to establish their own repertoire. This effort paid off by obtaining various grants for the creation and research residencies for their projects.
In this way, our productions have received the support of the Community of Madrid, Centro Cultural Conde Duque (Madrid), Centro Danza Canal (Madrid) and Compañía Nacional de Danza (Esp).
In recent years we have expanded our alliances developing our work with different companies, be it in the organization of events, sales showrooms, fashion movement direction and choreographic direction in video clips for companies such as: Paraíso Festival, Sony Music Entertainment Spain, Oysho Gymwear, Oysho, McGuffin or Craneomedia.
