Ogmia is a dance company directed by Director and Choreographer Eduardo Vallejo Pinto and based in Madrid.
Founded in 2019 Ogmia is born from the need to communicate, share and generate a new scenic vision in which Eduardo’s creative concerns converge with his need to portray a divergent society as well as his vision of it from the social and political problems of this.
Eduardo Vallejo begins at an early age to study Plastic Arts and Martial Arts. Thus, when Eduardo naturally encounters classical and contemporary dance in his homeland, he begins to form his particular vision of it, driven by the need to share and create pseudo-futuristic and dystopian worlds with realistic narratives, collaborating with artists and technicians and forming a team of professionals from different disciplines of the arts.
Over the years and after having worked in different audiovisual and performing arts production companies, as well as having performed in different companies, he found that his career as an artist would have a direct focus on creation, pedagogy and research. In this way she continues her innate curiosity, training in creative writing, new dramaturgy and photography.
All this is developed not only in his work as a freelance creator that begins at an early age but also in his company Ogmia.
This is based on Eduardo’s own fundamentals and philosophy in which from respect, thinking big and taking risks generates a general look at the team he directs focusing the look in unison in artistic integrity, professional rigor and in the change of fear of the unknown by curiosity and strength.
Ogmia & Eduardo Vallejo have a powerful presence at national level, and although still emerging company, with hard and constant work, begins to position itself within the artistic panorama with a solid and characteristic work that does not leave indifferent, participating in festivals such as Festival Internacional Madrid en Danza, Festival Internacional Danza Xixon, Festival Internacional Danza Xixon, Festival Internacional Danza Xixon, Festival Internacional Danza Xixon, Festival Internacional Danza Xixon and Festival Internacional Danza Xixon, Festival Internacional Danza Xixon, Tanztheatre International, Festival Abril en Danza, Masdanza Festival Internacional de Danza de Canarias, Danza en la Villa, Festiwal Teatr i Tanca Zawirowania, Gdansk Festiwal Tanca, among others.
In this way, the company has been able to show its work in theaters such as Teatros del Canal, Teatro Jovellanos, Teatro Fernán Gómez, Teatro Tomas y Valiente, Teatro del Bosque, Orangerie Herrenhausen, Club Zak, Real Coliseo Carlos III de El Escorial, Teatro Arniches, among others, with the support of Comunidad de Madrid, INAEM, Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Ayuntamiento de Móstoles, Compañía Nacional de Danza among others.
Founded in 2017, Batbox Productions, is made up of a team of collaborators from different disciplines: audiovisual production, photography, graphic design, sound design, lighting design, set design, costume and makeup design, acting coaching, production, press and online communication and marketing.
This team of professionals has allowed the company in a very short time to establish itself as one of the new contemporary dance proposals on the local scene, without neglecting its first steps at the national and international level.
Achieving an absolute fullness with the premiere of our first full-length piece at the Teatro “Sala Mirador” (Madrid) in November 2017, we have dedicated ourselves to consolidating our work with collaborators such as Eduardo Vallejo Pinto’s company in the production of pieces of various lengths to establish their own repertoire. This effort paid off by obtaining various grants for the creation and research residencies for their projects.
In this way, our productions have received the support of the Community of Madrid, Centro Cultural Conde Duque (Madrid), Centro Danza Canal (Madrid) and Compañía Nacional de Danza (Esp).
In recent years we have expanded our alliances developing our work with different companies, be it in the organization of events, sales showrooms, fashion movement direction and choreographic direction in video clips for companies such as: Paraíso Festival, Sony Music Entertainment Spain, Oysho Gymwear, Oysho, McGuffin or Craneomedia.
