THE COMPANY

In 2019, Eduardo Vallejo Pinto founded his company Ogmia, which has received support and residencies from important institutions such as the National Dance Company (CND), Canal Choreographic Center, Teatros del Canal, Teatro del Bosque, Ministry of Culture and Sports, INAEM, the Community of Madrid, the City Council of Madrid, among others.

Their first production, “No Time to Rage,” is a nominee in four categories at the MAX Awards: Best Dance Show, Best Choreography, Best Male Performer, and Best Musical Composition for Stage Performance, and it is scheduled at Teatros del Canal. It was also selected for the Think Big residencies, where a piece was created and premiered at TANZtheater International Hannover in 2021. That same year, it won three awards at the Masdanza Festival, including the Audience Award for Best Solo.

In 2022, Vallejo premiered his third creation at the 37th International Madrid en Danza Festival and was selected with the same piece for the International Dance Festival organized by Tanzplattform Bern 2023. He also presented his work “Time X” at the Quinzena de Dança de Almada – International Dance Festival. In 2023, his fourth creation, “Glass House,” premiered at the International Dance Festival Danza Xixón.

Ogmia and Eduardo Vallejo have participated in festivals such as TANZ Theatre International Hannover, Quinzena de Dança de Almada – International Dance Festival, International Madrid en Danza Festival, International Dance Festival Danza Xixón, MASDANZA International Contemporary Dance Festival of the Canary Islands, Festiwal Teatr i Tanca Zawirowania, Gdansk Festiwal Tanca, Festival Danza en la Villa, Festival Abril en Danza, Festival Traslación, among others. They have showcased their creations in countries such as Spain, Germany, Poland, Portugal, and Switzerland.

This way, the company has succeeded in presenting its work in theaters such as Orangerie Herrenhausen, Vidmar 1, Centrum Teatr Tańca Zawirowania, Club Zak, Teatros del Canal Sala Verde, Teatro Fernán Gómez, Centro Cultural de la Villa, Teatro Jovellanos, Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto, Teatro Pérez Galdós, Museo Patio Herreriano de Arte Contemporáneo, Sala Concha Velasco, LAVA, Centro Cultural Párraga, Teatro del Bosque, Sala Cuarta Pared, Real Coliseo de Carlos III, Teatro Tomás y Valiente, Centro Cultural Paco Rabal, Centro Cultural Casa de Vacas.

The work of Ogmia/Eduardo Vallejo is characterized by its formal and poetic strength, resulting in an unmistakable style. Recurring themes include political and social critique, gender roles, interpersonal relationships, and their consequences.

BATBOX PRODUCTIONS

Founded in 2018, Batbox Productions is comprised of a team of collaborators from different disciplines. This group of professionals has allowed the company to quickly establish itself as one of the new and noteworthy proposals in contemporary dance on the local scene, without neglecting its initial steps at the national and international levels.

In recent years, the company has garnered support and funding from various institutions, including the European Union, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music, Acción Cultural Española PICE Programs, SGAE Foundation, the Community of Madrid, and the City Council of Madrid.
