REPLICANT
Open Studio: 15 Nov 2024
Centro Coreográfico Canal
The world is governed by a tireless and incandescent will that turns us into desiring machines. We desire tirelessly, and after the satisfaction of one desire, another always awaits, seeking to be fulfilled in turn; a dynamic that relentlessly batters and abuses us, placing us between two inevitable poles: suffering and boredom.
Between these two poles, we can locate the pursuit of freedom, considering that free will will always be conditioned by desire.
Replicant explores the intersection of dance, existentialism, and transhumanism. The aim is to investigate the human condition, freedom, and self-determination, using dance as a means of expression. The goal is to find a personal perspective on the spirit, life, and consciousness of the individual, as well as to explore moral conflict in the pursuit of being.
Are freedom and self-determination necessary conditions to define the human being?
